From their childhood days, attached to acting, her father was a theatre owner, She played many short roles as a child artist.
Monami started her career in her school days through a TV series that was her debut on the Tv screen, “Saatkahon“. Then she got back-to-back serials to offer, like Pratiksha Ektu Bhalobasar, Kon Se Alor Swapno Niye, Sonar Horin, Ek Akasher Niche & Ekdin Pratidin.
She worked with Etv Bangla & played as a lead character in Binni Dhaner Khoi, Hiyar Majhe & Sonar Horin. Monami appeared in a Star Jalsha tv series, Punyi Pukur where she became a star after playing the character Kankaboti Banerjee aka Kakon.
In the middle, she appeared in movies like Bhooter Bhabishayt, directed by Anik Dutta & also worked with Soumitra Chattopadhyay in Belashse, by the direction of Shiboprasad Chatterjee & Nandita Roy & appeared in Saibal Banerjee & Leena Gangopadhyay’s movie Maati with starring Paoli Dam & Adil Hussain.
Then after a long gap from the tv screen, she is back in Star Jalsha through popular serials Irabotir Chupkatha where she plays the role of Iraboti Mitra, a story of 32 years independent working & unmarried woman who excellently handles her job & family. After playing the role of Iraboti, a unique character she became the spotlight, she here plays the double role, appearing also as Aarushi aka Aaru, daughter of Iraboti Mitra Chatterjee & Akash Chatterjee.
Apart from acting, Monami is a professional dancer, She is also a judge of reality show Dance Dance Junior season2. She runs a YouTube Channel where we see her excellent dance performance like Genda Phool, and much popularity gained from her dance performance Badi Mushkil, which was dedicated to her dance idol, Madhuri Dixit.
